Head coach of the Super Eagles, Gernot Rohr, has laid to rest speculations in some quarters that John Mikel Obi has retired from the national team. Rohr said he expects Mikel to be fit for their 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Libya next month. There have been speculations that Mikel’s time with Nigeria could be over, after he asked to be excused from the 2019 AFCON qualifier against Seychelles last Saturday. It came at a time when his former Chelsea teammate Victor Moses announced his international retirement.
